False eyelashes can make a huge impact on your overall look and can instantly transform your beauty routine making you look glamorous with little effort. They make your eyes look bigger, more flirtatious and attract a lot of attention. Though, you can spend hours with mascara and eye shadows, it doesn’t compare to the dramatic effect that false lashes have to offer. That’s why false eyelashes are synonymous to a girl’s best friend. You can’t just live without them.
If you are experiencing the ‘feel good’ factor, while you wear those luscious, long lashes, indulge in it till it is time to remove your false lashes. Although we’ve covered how to put your lashes on here, we also need to make sure that we’re taking them off properly to avoid any lash removal nightmares. The glue can get stuck on the eyelids, and it really hurts to peel it off – not to mention the terrifying thoughts of accidently pulling out your natural eyelashes. If this sounds like you, don’t worry. Here is a surefire way to remove your false lashes that will make you wonder why you dreaded it in the first place.
Items you will need:
- Tweezers
- Mirror
- Oil-based makeup remover
- Baby oil/ coconut oil/ olive oil
- False eyelash case
Steps in the False Eyelash removal process:
- Stand in front of a mirror or keep a mirror level with your face on a flat surface.
- If you put a minimum amount of lash adhesive, then this step will be easy. Take a tweezer and pinch the outer corner of the lash strip. Gently pull it away from your lash line. It should come off easily.
- If you feel that you have applied a considerable amount of adhesive, then the removal process may not be as simple. You will not be able to gently pull the lash strip away from your lash line.
- Soak a cotton pad in baby oil or olive oil.
- Close your eyes and hold the cotton pad over your eyes for about 20 seconds. The oil will act as a lubricant breaking down the bonds of the glue and making it easier to slide off the false eyelash.
- Repeat the above process until the grip of the lash strip onto your lash line is reduced.
- Once the strength of the glue has reduced and the lash strip is loosely held onto your lash line, then take a tweezer and pinch the outer corner of the lash strip. In the similar manner as before, gently pull it away from the lash line. It should now come off easily.
- There may still be some glue residue remaining on your lash line. Take a small amount of oil-based cleanser on a cotton pad and gently dab your lash line with it. Then swipe it over the lash line to remove any glue residue.
- Avoid getting any baby oil or oil-based cleanser into your eye. If this happens, wash immediately with water.
- The eyelash band may also have some glue residue remaining on it. Take the baby oil or cleanser on a cotton pad and gently swipe over the lash band. This should remove any glue residue. If there are some large remnants of glue still present, try to gently remove it with the help of a tweezer. Do this very gently so that you do not damage the false eye lashes.
- Next, place the false lashes in a case to keep them safe until the next use.
Tips to remember when removing your False Eye Lashes:
- Always peel off your false eyelashes off gently. Do not rip them off in a hurry as you may damage both your natural eyelashes as well as the false lashes.
- Always remove any excess glue remaining on the lash strip after use. This will ensure that they will remain in tip top condition and you can use them again. It will also protect the lashes from any bacteria that could cause redness or agitation to your eye.
- Always keep the false lashes in a case to protect them from damage.
Once you have mastered the art of removing false eyelashes, you needn’t worry about any damage to your natural eyelashes. This foolproof method of removing false eyelashes is not only easy, but it is gentle on your eyes and your eyelashes. Wear those lashes with confidence and rock the party!
